Spruce Meadows, the sprawling equestrian site in the south of Calgary, is introducing new technology to keep fans of the sport and facility more in tune with what’s happening there.
The all new Fan Experience App, designed and created by IBM, has been created to deliver the Spruce Meadows experience on a digital platform.
“Our guests will be able to digitally explore Spruce Meadows through our interactive maps and plan their next trip to the grounds with our calendar,” said the organization. “Guests will be able to keep up with the action by browsing our tournament and competition details to ensure they don’t miss their favourite athletes.”
The app also includes a chat feature where users can “Ask RD,” Spruce Meadows’ expert host, questions about the grounds, food, parking, activities and anything else they’re interested in.
The app is available for iOS and Android.
App users can enjoy its features this week. Opening the 2018 Spruce Meadows Summer Series, the National presented by Rolex hosts the best show jumping athletes and horses from throughout the world. The event runs from Wednesday through Sunday. From Friday to Sunday, visitors to Spruce Meadows can enjoy shopping, pony rides, face painting, wagon rides and the RE/MAX prairie dogs.
