You describe yourself as the Meetup Queen. What does that mean and what do you do?

Moi: Five years ago I wanted to grow my life-coaching business and I couldn’t find a way to get clients until I started a Meetup group and a Facebook group. Within three months, I got fully booked and I was overloaded with a waiting list with more clients.

I started to run Meetups all around the country and in six months I got 12,000 people in my Meetup and from there I got crowned the Meetup Queen, as I was running numerous events a month all around Australia.

I then had life coaches come up to me asking me, “How did you do it? How did you get fully booked?” That’s when I started the MAFIA academy where I now teach business owners, coaches and expert speakers how to boom their business by leverage on their Meetup and Facebook groups.

That’s allowed me to generate a community of entrepreneurs who passionately live life on their own terms, while generating an income.

I see you are also Godmother of the MAFIA. What is that?

Moi: The MAFIA academy is a family of entrepreneurs and like-minded action takers who want to grow their business, while collaborating and supporting each other. They are committed to helping and impacting others, using the same strategies that I used to grow my own business.

My mother doesn’t like it because all my family back in Italy are saying I started a MAFIA in Australia. But really the MAFIA here is a positive community where we have each other’s back.

I run a series of workshops that teach entrepreneurs how to go from invisible to invincible on and offline. And how to use events and social media to raise their profiles and create one-to-many businesses, rather than slaving away in a one-on-one and time-for-money business that they’re unable to scale.

How can businesses stand out when there is so much competition?

Moi: First and foremost, I don’t believe in competition, because everybody is unique and the strategies we teach can be used in different ways for each person. The reason people see competition is because they’re invisible on social media and they call someone their competitor, because they’re more successful and more famous.

Instead, what I’ve done and what I teach is build your following and be active and consistent on social media, so people want to follow you and work with you. And because there’s no one like you around in the world you need to be your authentic self. When this comes through, then you can’t be compared to other people.

Where and how can businesses find hot leads to grow their sales and reach?

Moi: The most important question you can ask is how people can find you, rather that you find leads. That’s the problem with most business: they are so desperate to find leads that they are searching rather than raising their profile enough that people can find them.

There are 2.8 billion active users on Facebook each month alone so leads are everywhere. If we become the authority in our niche, people will come to you and ask to work with you. But only after we’ve done the most important job: build enough trust.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received about being an entrepreneur?

Moi: That business is a spiritual journey and because of that I realized that your business is a 3D print of your thoughts. All I had to do was grow my mindset to be able to grow my business massively.

The more I grew myself, the more my business grew. The way I looked at things changed and that made my business scale to a whole new level. There’s always something to learn and always something you can do to develop yourself and your mindset.
